Researcher of the Month, March 2022!

The month of March was full of myriads of activities for members of FATPARG and we look forward to April. However, we can not leave March without celebrating the contributions of our members in various capacities. This month the spotlight is on our very own Editor-In-Chief and FATPARG`s Executive Secretary, Miss Josephine Oluseyi Adebayo.




Miss Josephine is a Master's Degree Student at the Department of Aquaculture and Fisheries Management, University of Ibadan. As the Executive secretary of FATPARG, she coordinates the activities and organization of FATPARG. She also facilitates any other administrative duty for the Executive Directorate.

Miss Josephine also serves in the Capacity of the Deputy Head of the FATPARG Aquaculture Department.

I worked on a couple of research for both the Aquaculture and Animal Science & Welfare departments. A publication came out of this research; "Role of Technology In Catfish Production" while some are under review post submission to Journals.

Miss Josephine is illustrious and serves in the following special duty units: Editorial Team, Innovative Team and the Review Panel. Let us hear about them in her words

I serve as the Editor-In-Chief of the Editorial team where I am in charge of content creation, writing, editing of articles for the blog and coordination of activities of the team. I also direct the publicity of FATPARG on social media. On the other hand, as a member of the innovative team, I contribute to the development and execution of special activities in the organization. At the Review Panel, I facilitate the editing and adaptation of research manuscripts into journal formats before submission.

Specialization and Research Focus:

   Aquaculture; Aquatic Animal Health Management / Disease Prevention / Aquatic Ecotoxicology.

Research Drive and Stance:

        My research aim is to solve problems relating to Fish diseases, that will contribute to Zero Hunger within my local community.

How do you handle a bad day in the Laboratory or doing research?:

       Take a break, eat, sleep and come back refreshed. I also let out my emotions by speaking with loved ones.






Short Narration of most funny or happy research experience:

        My first publication notification was accompanied by a dancing spree and the laughter that followed when my siblings got to know I would not be paid for it.

Counsel to other Researchers:

        The purpose of research is to solve a problem. Always remind and encourage yourself when it gets tough.
